Betsy Shelton Headshot

Betsy Shelton, MS, CSP, CQE -Manager, Performance Improvement Ascension

Betsy currently serves Ascension Texas as the Manager of Performance Improvement with primary focus on clinical quality, patient safety, and operational efficiency. She is a Certified Safety Professional and Certified Quality Engineer, and has a BS in Chemistry and Molecular Biology from Texas Lutheran University and an MS in Industrial Hygiene from Montana Tech. Before joining Ascension, Betsy was recognized internationally as an expert in carbon nanotube occupational exposure and product safety, resulting in NIH research funding, several publications, and keynote addresses. Betsy has served on the local executive committees of the American Chemical Society and American Industrial Hygiene Association, and currently serves as the STEM Co-chair of her local PTA, and executive committee member and Den Leader for her local Cub Scout pack.
